If you didn't have a job, were bored, and maybe a little lonely, joining might not be the worst idea. The people I used to babysit for did and they gave me the best mango I've ever had in NY.
To be honest, I'd rather pay the $25/year Flatbush Coop fee, not have to work, and avoid all the pretension.
